Companies with above average representation of women on their boards generated total returns +163 basis points higher than companies with below average representation, and were able to do so with 48 percent less risk.

For profitable firms, a move from no female leaders to 30 percent representation is associated with a 15 percent increase in the net revenue margin.

The Castell Project Launches $1 Million “Ladder Up” Capital Campaign

On March 21, 2019, Castell Project launched its first ever capital campaign, “Ladder Up.” With a goal to raise $1 million dollars, Hilton has signed on as the lead sponsor with a $100,000 donation.

“We are proud to be recognized by Great Places to Work® as the #1 Best Place to Work in the U.S. and Fortune magazine as one of the 100 Best Workplaces for Women in 2018,” said Dianna Vaughan, senior vice president and global head, All Suites brands, Hilton. We are committed to supporting, promoting and increasing diversity in the hospitality industry and excited to continue the work we’re doing through our partnership with the Castell Project.”

With these funds, Castell would scale its successful leadership program to reach more levels, and develop additional strategic initiatives and research to drive gender diversity in leadership. With scale, the industry will realize Castell’s mission of a women in at one of three leadership positions, to the benefit of all:

The reputation of the hospitality industry as an innovative and fair place to work will attract talented, forward-thinking women and men.
